Abstract
Analysis of the
influence of thunderstorm activity type (i.e. air-mass
thunderstorm or frontal thunderstorm) on forest fire occurrence in Krasnoyarsk
region for
2005 was performed. The data of instrumental measurements made by AVHRR
radiometer on NOAA satellites and on-ground system of lightning
direction
finding of Krasnoyarsk
airbase of forest protection service were analyzed. The seasonal and
latitudinal dynamics of thunderstorm activity was defined. The
distribution of
lightning-caused fires depending on time interval since lightning
strike
registration was obtained. The relationships between number of
lightning
strikes recorded and fire danger class as well as between number of
lightning-caused fires and fire danger class were determined.
