Abstract
The article
examines the process of natural renewal of the Siberian fir (Abies Sibirica)
under parent forest stand in fir-tree
forests having different types of herbs or moss on the territory of the
Kemerovo region. It presents the
data obtained during the expeditions to the nature reserve "Kuznetsky
Alatau", Shorsky National Nature Park and Mariinsk forestry in 1997-2004. The results of the research show the
influence of the location on the slope and the slope microrelief on the
number of juvenile Siberian firs. There is a correlation between the
quantitative distribution of the undergrowth and the slope exposure.
Comparative characteristics of the mountainous and flat parts of the region are also examined. The research shows that the
quality of fir renewal depends on the plentitude of parent forest stand. There
is a certain interdependence between the projective covering of herbage and the
number of juvenile firs.
